It seems that many "Conservatives" out there WANT to see Hillary Clinton victorious in November.  If McCain ends up being the nominee, is any sane conservative really going to refrain from voting for him because he is "not conservative enough"?  At least on the issues he has been consistent over the years, which is something that could not always be said of Romney. 

If we keep accusing everyone of being un-Republican, eventually you will have kicked everyone out and the party will have 10% of the population in it... but THEY will be true conservatives!  Hooray. Why not look at the bright side.  McCain gives us the best chance to win in November.  A McCain win means another elephant in the White House, which means a much better chance of winning in Iraq.  We all know how short the memory is of most Americans.  If four years from now Iraq looks much better, then history has already begun to vindicate Bush.

Bottom line, I see a Republican in the White House as a victory.  Maybe McCain turns out to be a great President and attracts independents back to the party... remember Ronald Regan anyone? He was able to win very liberal states (and was the original architect of amnesty... HE COULDN'T HAVE BEEN A CONSERVATIVE!!!), and provided the much needed crossover appeal.  McCain may not be the first choice of many of us, but he IS a conservative, and he WILL win in November.
